It’s a rare occasion but we have two runners in the same race today, the Bumper at Market Rasen.
Marg Hodgson’s Dizzy Chief makes her racecourse debut while The 100 Club horse, Yoredoingwell goes for his third race. Good Luck to both and come home safe.
Club members and their guests visited Nelson today on the eve of his third Bumper race.
Conserving his energy for the race, Nelson had a spell on the horse walker before parading in front of his visitors and posing for photographs. The visitors then watched three of his stable mates work on Middleham’s High Moor gallop.
Only four days to go until the latest stable visit for members of The 100 Club and their guests. This Saturday morning’s visit is open to everyone interested in having a look at the yard and the horses or in joining the Club.
Club membership is the easiest way to experience racehorse ownership.
Python put in a pleasing effort in his race at Newcastle today and give owner Dave Carter hope for his future prospects. Prior to running Python won the ‘Best Turned Out’ award, yet another BTO for Amy!
Today’s tragic accident at Haydock in which stalls handler Stephen Yarborough suffered fatal injuries, reminds us all of the vital and dangerous work stalls handlers do.
On a daily basis, stalls handlers ensure the safety of horses and riders, they are the unsung heroes of horse racing and without them the sport couldn’t function.
Everyone at Ashgill Racing sends their condolences to Stephen’s family, friends and colleagues.
Second and Third lots are seen going through their paces.
